Another email from my boys in Nuku Hiva… Received Monday 15th April 2013
On Friday, we had the Oyster events and party, with all the natives doing their thing it was fantastic. All day was a blast, Ed is really enjoying himself.
Yesterday we took the boat to a little bay and walked deep into the Jungle, so much happened, too much to explain but the flowers and the scenery were beyond description. Then a great barbeque on Amelie with all the guys from Legend and Dreams.
Today has been probably one of the most fun days I’ve had in 10 years, Eddie, Erio and I Rode quads up into the Jungle. It was full of breath taking prehistoric Polynesian trees and rock formations and outcrops of immense proportions.
We rode up over 3,000 feet crossing 2/3rds of the island to nearly the very highest point. You will not believe the photos. The guide drove as fast as he thought we could manage, over 60 kilometres on jungle and mountain paths. He gauged his speed off “fast Eddie” so it was a rally!
Unfortunately Erio was a bit outgunned, and in trying to keep up his quad did not make it around a corner, Erio jumped off but the quad went somersaulting down a steep jungle ravine where it came to rest wedged over a rock strangled by bamboo like plants.
Thankfully Erio wasn’t hurt, but it took us 2 hours of clever ropes levers, poles and 2 other quads spinning there wheels to pull the quad back up the mountain side.
I have so much more to tell you, Eddie has not stopped smiling and like I said its been a magic experience in a really special location, and a super adrenalin rush all at the same time.

heather, this sounds so incredible. what an amazing experience for bob and ed to share! thank you for posting these updates. i check in nearly every day hoping to see an update. you should ship niko off to dani and get out there! i’m so envious of them!
Thanks Justin, I’m happy you enjoy it, I wish I could get back out there, I’m hoping to next month after my show. By the way I don’t think Danni would be impressed at me just dumping Nicho on her, Moglie might eat him! 🙂 Good to hear from you again
